it's all about the pumpkin (part 2)...

A couple layouts to share...

All supplies are American Crafts.

The "Closet People" are wrapping up their work in the garage this morning. Which means that some serious organization is on the agenda for this afternoon--I'm giddy with excitement!

For now, I'm heading to Michael's to (hopefully) soak up some inspiration--Christmas crafting is on the brain!

Happy Friday!

all because i asked a few questions...

If you read my blog regularly you know that lately I've been using the Printable Quizzes from Ella Publishing to document a few of our family stories. Some printables I've used "as is", while others I've adapted to fit my own photos/style. Like this one:

I chose a few of the questions from one of the quizzes, typed them into a Word text box, and emailed the document to my husband yesterday afternoon. By this morning (not bad, right?) I received his funny and heartwarming perspective of me and our relationship. Ten minutes and a few scrapbooking goodies later, I have this priceless and authentic documentation of our story that our children and grandchildren (and so on and so forth) will have forever.

And it's all because I asked a few questions. This month I encourage you to take a few minutes and ask someone you love a handful of questions. I guarantee you'll be happy you did!

And, PS, I had to google Leslie Mann too. :)

family stories...

The new gallery is up over at write.click.scrapbook. When I heard this month's theme of family stories, I knew I wanted to document this photo:

As Kevin and I were sitting there studying that day, we were approached by someone who was taking photos of the campus for a U of R brochure. And I'm so glad that happened because, although this moment is safely tucked away in my mind, it's nice to have a photo to go along with it.

Incidentally, there's a lot more to this story (like how we ended up studying together in the first place and how we went from studying to dating), but for now, I'm happy to have at least this part down on paper.

I hope you're all having a happy Monday!

this and that...

That project I was telling you about last week posted yesterday over at the American Crafts Studio. Please check it out!

Today I'm putting my layout together for the November gallery at Write.Click.Scrapbook and organizing a stack of photos that I printed this weekend. I LOVE the prospect of freshly printed photos--so many stories to tell.

It's pouring here today. I'm hoping it clears up by tonight--Kevin and Jack are headed to game 1 of the World Series. Go Yankees! (Technically Jack is the only member of the family who is an actual Yankee fan. Kevin, Kate and I are Mets fans, and Sam is a Red Sox fan. But tonight, against the Phillies, we are ALL Yankees fans.)

I hope you're all having a great day, wherever you may be!

it's all about the pumpkin...

With Halloween just a few days away, we're surrounding ourselves with all things pumpkin...

Hope you're having a pumpkin-filled week too!

the one that got away...

I made this to use for that American Crafts project I was telling you about yesterday and ended up not using it, so I thought I'd share it here. (All products are from American Crafts except those layered chipboard pieces--those are from a Little Yellow Bicycle minibook.)

Have a great weekend!

100th post!

In case you haven't been over to the My Mind's Eye blog, here are a couple cards I designed last week:

I used the Spider's Web line, and they both came together in about ten minutes. That's my kind of card making!

I just finished a project that will post next week over at the American Crafts Studio which means my table is a HUGE mess. I have to clean it completely before I can start a new layout--one of my OCD tendencies, I suppose. Here I go!
